I especially love the feeling of serenity in this image...very nice. Ya know, I read the comment by Paula on your last post and I think she totally summed up your photography. Great stuff, Leo!
Ted, you are so very astute. These were once the rolling hills around the Bedouin encampment near the Sphynx. However a global shift of loose sand moved the locale to Arizona. The Sphynx, alas, remained on the Northeastern African sand, not far from its' original environs.
In actuality, these are the hills on the western side of Fort Huachuca, photographed on a Sunday in the early evening in mid-February.
Terrorists beware. There are weapons you've never dreamed of pointed at these serene and bucolic hills.
Arizona's skies have this quality of surprising, which is quite unique. I have seen many Arizona's sunsets, but this peach tone is quite unique. And I like how the color is mirrored in the dark warm tones of the ground.
